Spring Valley EcoFarms is a non-profit organization focusing on education, research, and outreach to promote more ecologically sustainable agriculture. Its seat is Spring Valley Farm, 100 acres in the Georgia Piedmont. The vision is to reduce reliance on external subsidies in agricultural systems through incorporating free services of nature. The goal is to develop a model for conservation of biological diversity and to provide a laboratory where ecological science and theory are put to a real-world test.

Our Logo Regenerative Agriculture Our logo represents the dynamic of a system as it passes through inception, growth, maturity, decay, degradation, and rebirth. It denotes the interplay between change and persistence, between the predictable and unpredictable. It is a framework of nature's rules, an antithesis to top-down rules that humans often apply in managing systems. The dynamic draws on the notion of hierarchies of influences between embedded scales, from cell to organism, through population, community, ecosystem, and landscape. It is a dynamic that allows adaptive evolution, that is, the ability to regenerate and survive under changing environments and changing circumstances. At Spring Valley EcoFarms, we apply the concept to agriculture.
